Others can claim that their transport services are safe, but unless they are using Teslas, they can’t claim to be the safest. Teslas are statistically 10 times safer than all other cars on the road, so we can proudly say that this is the safest, most secure way for your pup to travel on four wheels. Dog Hop uses the all-electric Tesla Model Y SUV as it’s fleet vehicle, and just like every other Tesla, it’s the safest vehicle in it’s class. The Model Y has an EPA estimated range of 326 miles, making it perfectly suited for long-distance travel.
With that said, we make frequent stops to charge the vehicle, approximately every 2 to 3 hours. This allows plenty of time for your dog to eat, drink, play, or do their business. If you are interested in learning more about the Model Y, click here.
Teslas have eight cameras positioned around the outside of the vehicle that help the car stay centered in the lane and brake and accelerate automatically to keep itself safely distanced from all other vehicles on the road.
Due to its fully electric nature, Teslas can run the HVAC system at all times, and have a "Dog Mode" specifically designed to keep the cabin temperature at a constant for your furry friends when you briefly step away.
When parked, the external cameras act as a security system and record video when they sense motion near the vehicle. The cameras also record dashcam footage while driving. Your dog is safe whether in motion or not.
No toxic exhaust, no loud engine noise. Just smooth, silent transport. A typical charging stop lasts about 20 minutes, giving both driver and pups the perfect amount of time to stretch and recharge their own batteries.

If you prefer that your dog travel in a crate, we have that option. We utilize USA made, 5 Star Crash Tested Gunner® crates. Some pets feel safer and are less stressed when traveling inside of a crate. This will depend on your own knowledge of your pup. Of course, not every dog will fit inside of our Gunner crates. For larger dogs, we utilize the MIMsafe Variocage. Certain large breeds simply will not fit into any of our crash-rated crates and will travel by harness and safety tether.
If using a service like Dog Hop, this is the option that most will prefer. In addition to safety, Dog Hop is about maximizing the comfort of your pet. This option provides your dog some freedom to move around and see out of the windows, while ensuring they are safe in the event of sudden braking. We only utilize crash-tested harnesses, tethers, and fasteners.
We haven't forgotten about our feline friends, and no matter the age or size, cats travel via crash-tested Sleepypod® carriers to maximum comfort and safety. We did extensive research before landing on these carriers, and we can say with confidence that this brand sets the standard for the entire pet carrier industry.
